Installation of PTC script

Hi

I'm sure with the rising popularity of Bux/PTC/GPT sites that many people are wondering how start their own.

I have created this mini guide as a quick tutorial on where to start and also to make people aware of what is needed to start and run a site of this sort.

What you will need:

Some cash; either in you Paypal account or on a credit or debit card that you can use online (amount depends on which options you choose below)

Some relative knowledge of website creation/ftp/databases etc or the ability to learn quickly

Dedication and time

1st Step:

Decide what sort of site you wish to run for example:

Paid To Click (also known as a Bux site) where members only click links and view ads for cash
or
Get Paid To site where members can do various tasks for cash including signing up to sites, completing offers or surveys, click links, view ads, read e-mails etc.

2nd Step:

Decide which script best matches your site type, below are some well known (and some not so well known) providers of PTC/Bux/GPT scripts:

CashCrusader Home of the CashCrusader script (GPT)

ShiftCode.com | Best GPT Scripts | Web Hosting Home of the Shiftcode script (GPT)

MadeRite Scripts (Powered by CubeCart) Home of the Aurora script (GPT or PTC)

PTCPay.Com! Your official source for the GeN3 PTC Script. Home of the Gen3 (and soon the Gen4) script (Bux/PTc)

www.buxhost.com Home of a Bux script

GPT Warrior - Welcome Home of the GPTwarrior script (GPT/PTC)

Welcome to PTCShop.com - Official home of the PTCShop PHP "Get Paid To" Web Script Home of the PTCShop script (GPT/PTC)

phpBux - Paid to Click / Bux Script Home of the phpBux script (bux/PTC)

If the script provider offers a package where they will sort you a domain name/host/install your script I reccomend you take this as it is easier to receive support for your website if it's hosted with the script company and this can also be cheaper.

If you decided to host the script/website your self you will need a domain name ( example: http://www.yourptc.com) and a host (also known as a server this is where your site is stored)

I recommend Byethost - Premium Hosting their ultimate (unlimited ) plan is only $6.99 a month and can be paid via Paypal and you get a FREE .COM, .NET, .ORG, .BIZ, .US, .EU or .INFO domain name. Byethost also have a great customer service team and are very well known.

DO NOT use a free web host like 000webhost as they generally do not allow 'money making' web sites and if you try to use them you will find your account removed without warning - always use a paid hosting service.

If you still require a domain name I find GoDaddy are the best and cheapest (.info domains are currently $0.79 each!!) http://www.godaddy.com - you can find info about discount codes and how to get a free domain/hostng here: http://www.cashloopholes.co.uk/free-...s-hosting.html

3rd Step:

Installing your script: (if your script provider has completed this for you move on to the design/ advertising step)
You will need a FTP (File Transfer Protocol) account set up in your hosting (ask your hosting company if you do not know how to do this) and a program like FileZilla (free and available here: FileZilla - Client Download )

Make sure you CAREFULLY read the instructions included with your script on installation as the slightest mistake may make your site not work.

Upload the script to the designated area for your domain and then again follow the instructions given with the script (I cannot put detailed instructions here as all scripts differ)

You may be required to chmod files or create cronjobs - if you do not know how to do this ask your host or script provider for help.

You will also need to set up an e-mail account linked to your site i.e: admin@yourptc.com - this can usually be done through your cPanel and then accessed via Outlook Express or free software like Thunderbird: http://www.mozillamessaging.com/en-US/thunderbird/download/?product=thunderbird-2.0.0.22&os=win〈=en-US

Again if you need help setting up your e-mail contact your host.

Also depending on your script you will need to decide how you wish to pay your members and how they will pay you (for ads etc) most commonly used is Paypal http://www.paypal.com - I advise that you become a verified business member.

4th Step:

Design - If you have purchased a script with a customized design please go on to the next step.

On your PC navigate to the folder that stores the design files for your site (may be simply called 'images' or 'templates')

I recommend you have software like Dreamweaver/Fireworks/Illustrator/Photoshop etc - yes these are exspensive pieces of kit but If you use Torrent or warez sites you will easily find these for free.

Edit your design to fit your theme or website name and upload the new designs to your site via your FTP software (always have a backup of your script files just in case something goes wrong)

5th Step

Advertising/Promotion/Making Money of your site:

If you have decided on a GPT site you will want to register with 'Affiliate Networks' like CashillionConnect, PepperJam, AffiliateFuture etc these sites will give you offers, surveys and clicks for your site and when your members complete these you will receive credit at the Affiliate site.

You may also wish to use Adsense on your site (there's plenty of info on CLH regarding this)
REMEMBER - TELLING OR PAYING PEOPLE TO CLICK YOUR ADSENSE IS A VIOLATION OF TERMS!

How can you attract members to your site?

Offer something free like a sign up bonus (can be cash or ads)

Have a Forum/Chat/Support (if you are using cPanel in your hosting there will be something called 'Fantastico' where yu can find forum scripts that can be installed in a few minutes, you can easily add a shoutbox just google 'free shoutbox'.

Be active on the site/chat/forum

Offer discounted ads/paid memberships for the first month

Have a refferal/banner creation/click contest with cash/point prizes

How and where to advertise your site?

Advertise your site in forums like CLH - via posts or in your signature - don't spam

Find other PTC/GPT/Bux sites with large member bases and buy banner ads, paid signups ptc ads etc

If you have a blog add details of your site to it

Advertise on Free Ads sites, eBay, Ebid etc

If your site is restricted to your country - make flyers to put on notice boards, in shops etc

Register for 'e-mail list sites' and send out an e-mail advertising your site

Make a video and post it on YouTube - make sure you use good key words like: earn, free, cash, paypal

Craig1985 has written a good guide for traffic here: http://www.cashloopholes.co.uk/websi...ffic-free.html

Or you can check out Website Promotion/Traffic Downloads - CashLoopholes or Website Traffic Tips-n-Tricks - CashLoopholes

There are hundreds of ways to promote and get traffic for your site.

Once your site has members and things to do................

Make sure you are active on the site/forum, make sure you keep advertising (remember just because someone is a member doesn't mean they will automatically advertise for you) make sure you have a realistic cash out minimum, always make sure you back up you database and files and make sure you have a back up source for funds to pay your members.

DO register at GPTboycott: http://www.GPTboycott.com and become a verified supporter and display their banner on your site.

DO become a verified member of Paypal

DO have someone else who knows how to run the site (your partner or a trusted friend) just in case you fall ill or go on holiday

DO make sure you have the time and patience to run your site - a lot of sites fail because the owners only check them every few days and are not active.

DO ask for help from other site owners/your hosting/your script provider

DO pay your members on time

DO ban members who cheat

DO have an up to date Terms/Info page

Things NOT to do.....................

DO NOT use a nulled script (or if your script requires a license DO NOT use it un-licensed)

DO NOT advertise on sites that are/or maybe scams - you don't want to be associated with that!

DO NOT buy scripts from Tradebit/Payloadz or similar sites as these are generally illegal/nulled scripts.

DO NOT think you will make a massive profit in the first month - more often than not you will be at a loss for at least a few months.

DO NOT 100% assume that your site will be successful

DO NOT try to fix errors or problems with your site if you don't know how to - ask for help!

__________________________________________________ ___________________________________

Okay so that's the end of my mini guide , I hope it will be of use to someone!

If you wish to add to it please post below - remember this is only a quick guide and should be used as reference only.

Holly

Default [HOW TO] Create a PTC site + Adverts

Hello all, and welcome to the first part of my CREATE A PTC SITE guides. If I receive good feedback on this one, there is a likelihood that I will create a second part.

In this guide I will take you through 2 different scripts and make mention to 2 different advertisers you can use with your PTC site. Now, this won't be completely indepth, as I myself haven't yet attempted to use the advertisers with the scripts, however I'm sure you will be able to figure it out yourself.

YOU WILL NEED
A PTC script. Feel free to use the ones below, or purchase one (search google to purchase one). I suggest downloading PTCscript2.rar and skipping right to the installation of that one.
A host for your files.

You can select from a range of hosts, but at the moment my best suggestion would be DreamHost, who are offering unlimited space and bandwidth.
A collection of promo codes for DreamHost (Enter them at the bottom of the signup page)
  • PTC8866 - $50 off registration
  • PTC142 - 2 Free domains
  • PTC5532 - 1 Free domain + $15 off

An FTP program to access your server.
You can use the freeware program FileZilla effectively for this.

An Advertiser
We will get to this later!

Only install ONE in a certain directory. If you only wish to install one, I suggest skipping right to the 2nd PTC script!

I TAKE NO RESPONSIBILITY IF YOU FUCK UP!... just thought I should say. Also, if I made a mistake, I'm really sorry if it causes you troubles. I will try my best to help solve any problems and will fix the guide accordingly.

We will start with the installation of PTCscript1! (More difficult and not as good as PTCsite2)

Step 1 - Uploading the Files
Firstly, please note that script 2 is better, more secure and easier to setup. This one is a little bit more in depth and requires more work.
Begin by opening FileZilla and connecting to your server. Upload all the files and folders except for 'installation'. This should be pretty straight forward.

Step 2 - Uploading sqldump.sql

Firstly create a mySql table. This can often be done from the 'mySql' page. It does not matter what name you enter, or are given.
Now, find phpMyAdmin in your hosting control panel. (Have to be vague, as it depends from host to host.)
Once logged in, select the database from the drop-down list from the left section of the page.
Now, click SQL from the top menu of the main section. Use the Location of the textfile select the file to upload (sqldump.sql). If asked to choose compression, choose None! Now, upload the file.
(Comment >> Yes I know this can be done through shell, but it's easier this way)

Step 3 - Editing dbconnect.php
In the folder in which you extracted the files on your local computer, open dbconnect.php in either Notepad or Dreamweaver.
You will be presented with something similar to
Code:
<?php  mysql_connect('localhost','root','asdfgh'); mysql_select_db('ptcinv');  ?>
Update the 'root' to the username that you entered or were given when creating your database. Do the same for 'asdfgh' for the password and 'ptcinv' for the name of the database. eg
Code:
<?php  mysql_connect('localhost','username','password'); mysql_select_db('database');  ?>
Once edited, reupload this file to your server through FileZilla, over righting the old one.

Step 4 - Editing vars.php
Now open vars.php in NotePad or Dreamweaver and edit it. This one is pretty straight forward. Once done editing, save and then reupload, over writing the old file.

Step 5 - Password protect the admin folder.
Yes, I know, this script is a little lame. In your cpanel (or panel offered), go to either a password protect folder page, or to the file browser and password protect your 'admin' folder.

Step 6 - Login to admin and go
Now, navigate to www.yoursite.com/admin and enter the password you set for the admin folder. You can control the PTC site from this admin folder.

Step 7 - Advertisers
Scroll down.

Now how to install PTCsite2 (The better one)

Step 1 - Uploading the Files
Begin by opening FileZilla and connecting to your server. Upload all the files in the 'script' folder. This should be pretty straight forward.

Step 2 - Uploading sqldump.sql

Firstly create a mySql table. This can often be done from the 'mySql' page. It does not matter what name you enter, or are given.
Now, find the file 'database.txt' in the place you extracted the files. Rename this to sqldump.sql
(Comment >> Yes I know this can be done through shell, but it's easier this way... also that I got lazy)

Step 3 - Modifying the Config Files
Firstly open 'config.php' in the 'script' folder in Notepad or Dreamweaver.
You will be presented with a script which looks like
pdate the 'username' that you entered or were given when creating your database. Do the same for 'password' for the password and 'database' for the name of the database. Change the url to your site url, including the www.net.
Now, upload this using FileZilla and replace 'config.php' and then upload it again replacing '/admin/config.php', as they are the same files.

Step 4 - Access The Admin Panel
Navigate to www.yoursite.com/admin and login using admin as your username and 123456 as your password. Edit your settings as you like.

Step 5 - Advertisers
Look down!

Advertisers
The true nature of PTC sites is the fact that you send users to advertisers in attempts to sign them up; then use some of the money which you get back to pay the user.
This is known as
CPA - Cost per Acquisition (A user signs up) and
CPL - Cost Per Lead (Leading a potential customer to a site)
I have not yet had any experience with advertisers, however there are many ways you can find them. You can either have them sign up directly on your site, paying a flat rate for clicks. You can also contact organisations asking if anything is available.
My preference is to use a marketing company. Two which may possibly work well with PTC are:
- Cactus Media - The Leader In Performance Based Marketing!
- Pay Per Lead Advertising Cost Per Lead CPL Advertising Pay Per Lead Program Pay Per Lead Affiliate Program Banner Ad Affiliate Campaigns
Sign up on both if you wish. Cactus media includes ones like blockbuster I believe.
Please remember, I have not had any experience with either, and I am not sure how easily it would be to use their services with these PTC scripts.

I hope that you have enjoyed reading this and that it has helped you. If you experience any problems, please just reply and I'll try my best to fix things up if I can. If you notice I have forgotten something or made a mistake, please PM me or just reply. Hopefully your PTC works well, and you can have fun starting to momentize it.

Personal note to self - NEVER FUCKING DO THAT AGAIN YOU DUMBASS!... NOW YOUR WRISTS ARE SORE AND IT'S 1AM IN THE MORNING!

If you enjoyed please +rep or donate!

Yes, they can. After momentizing the site, and the user base grows, there are many sources of revenue.

>> Adverts
>> Future selling (More members, more hits, the more you can sell the site for at like sitepoint.com or another website bid site.)
>> The main CPA and CPL ads... They only give back a percentage to the user. Not only that, but the user does not always complete enough to cash out, leaving more cash in pocket for the owner.

You shouldn't have tried to dumb it down. The more idiots that mess up on this, the more retards we have posting "OMG OMG OMG".

You should have had the post keep its integrity rather than trying to dumb it down for people because only smart people should be doing this anyways.

Overall good tutorial though! GJ +Rep

Bigger appeal is better I guess.

Either than that, you know I would have gone and made one about how to start making one from scratch.

If the advertisers pay 0.01 per click and you pay your users 0.005 per click and 0.002 per referral click and there are 10 ads per day you would earn around 0.003 per click they make, including the clicks you make. And if other people quit like you mentioned you would earn yourself free clicks... and you can even display some affiliate products so if your website is really popular you could earn $20 for each product you sell from being an affiliate... Not to mention adding google or yahoo ads.. Wow this doesn't seem like a pretty bad idea.. And if it doesn't go well you can always flip the site for a lot of cash if you have good revenue..

I don't think I'm going to make one though.. PTC's aren't really my thing.

Yes I'm pretty cheap xD.

NVM, I don't think I'm going to follow through on this plan. Thanks for actually offering to do it cause most people don't do it for free.

No worries. I guess if you make a bit more capital later, this may become a possible path.

actually, its 1 cent per click, half a cent per ref clicks, unless they purchase premium

also when they buy premium, usually u set it to 1.25 cents per click, and 1 cent per ref click

and normally ads r set at this price- 500 clicks for $10

which means the ptc site is still making money even when u purchase refs, cause not every1 buys premium or gets refs, and they ONLY LOSE MONEY WHEN THEY PAY OUT, but they make money when sum1 advertises

truthfully, u can make a little at first, then it'll get good

also if u look at champ's ptc in my sig, hes a great owner and making some money, people buy his ref packages (because he guarantees most r active) and if not he'll change them for u

as in he guarantees they click at least the first 3 days

idk, but champ runs his ptc really nicely, and hes making a profit, and he started not too long ago

also he has $1,000 backed up just incase

Advertisers (the real ones) pay ALOT less than 1c per view - something more along the lines of 0.01 of a cent (not of a dollar)

.. Just thought that was worth mentioning.

Yeah, I remember when first Champs built his PTC.He use to be very active on the forums until he got into his PTC business. I think he's found a better way then using CL or pepsi to pay the bills . His website is becoming very popular too. And 7usaball, there are different amounts PTC pays. It doesn't have to be strictly 0.01. Like somebody said above, it really depends on how greedy the admin is.

Only place where I have seen such low rate is DonkeyMails they pay 0.01 cent for every 20 second ad.
I have seen a lot of times advertisers paying $2 per view too, yes its real. For instance, If you have a site related to computer and you put Google ads you might e lucky to get ads from Microsoft and/or Intel which gives you $1-2 per ad. This is only possible if you have your account in good standing.
One cent per view is what every advertisers can afford.

actually the wrst ptc site and epic fail, WHICH COULD HAVE BECOME A GREAT PTC SITE-

sharebux.org

it is a script that u get SHARES for viewing ads, and the shares PRICE changes per day

problem- shares were pretty much worthless
also problem- buying ads WERE CHEAP AS HELL

o also, most sites r 2 cents per view, as in: 500 views for $10...
